Software, built for context.

4CXT is a one-person AI lab in San Diego. The agents write the code. The founder decides what is worth building, and reviews everything before it ships. Two products are live.

01 — The lab

Small by design.

4CXT builds and runs SaaS products with a team of one. There are no employees. There is a founder with twenty years of product work, a set of AI coding agents, and a process that makes the agents better every week instead of just faster.

The process has two halves. Planning uses BMAD: a brief, a PRD, a UX spec, and an architecture, argued out by specialist agents before a line of code exists. Building uses compound engineering: plan, work, review, ship, and then write down what was learned so the next build starts smarter. Every solved problem becomes a document the agents read before they plan the next one. That is the compounding.

What gets built here is narrow on purpose. A product has to come from a pain the founder has actually lived, hold a wedge one person can defend, and run as a business one operator can keep running. If it needs a sales team, it is not a 4CXT product.

Two live. Room for more.

Both run on AWS under the 4CXT organization. Both were planned, built, and are operated with the process above.

TandemDoc

Live

git push → a live Google Doc. Comments in, commits out.Agents and engineers write specs in Markdown. Leadership reviews in Google Docs. TandemDoc keeps both sides in the same document, refuses to overwrite a comment it cannot preserve, and leaves a receipt of what happened to the version the reviewer actually read.

Trent Dethloff

I have spent my career building software automations that help customers. I have worked at AWS, Intuit and I am a two time startup founder.

4CXT is where I build the things I kept wishing existed, with agents doing the building. I hold a strong opinion that the human review step/process is our primary bottleneck and I am working on solutions to that problem.
